Worum es geht:

Seit nun mehr 2 Jahren wird versucht eine Regulierung der Straßenkunst in der Innenstadt durchzuwinken. Grund dafür seien vor allem, die sich wiederholenden Beschwerden über Lärmbelästigung.

Over the past two years the City Council of Dresden has been trying to find a final solution for the regulation for street art in the city centre of Dresden. The main reason which sparked this discussion has been the complaints about noise disturbances which the City Council has received.

Bisher gab es für eine Neuregelung aber keine Mehrheiten im Stadtrat, weswegen am 11.Juli die Oberbürgermeisterin einen Beschluss im Alleingang fasste und umsetzte. Damit wurden nicht nur die Stadträte übergangen, sondern auch die Möglichkeit eines Dialoges zwischen Stadt und Künstlern, welcher auch offiziell von der Politik angestrebt wird.

Until now there has been no majority support from the City Council for the proposed form of regulations. However, on the 11th of July the Lord Mayor Helma Orosz, made the decision to implement these restrictions herself. This move from her has not only omitted the City Council's view, but also the opportunity to have an open discussion between the City Council and the artists.

Die Bedingungen, die nunmehr an Künstler gestellt werden, sind eine große bürokratische Hürde und bedrohen die Existenz der Kulturschaffenden massiv.

The conditions which are now in place are a great bureaucratic barrier, and a threat to the livelihood of artists performing in Dresden.

Wir fordern einen sofortigen Stopp dieser Regulierung und einen ehrlichen Dialog mit den Kulturschaffenden in dieser Stadt - Für eine freie Ausübung von Straßenkunst!

We demand an immediate retraction of the new regulations and an open and honest discussion on the topic between the artists of Dresden and the City Council – For free expression of street art!

On the event you can expect verious streetartists and their work, but also a lot of other artists that are solidar with our group and aims and that will also show their skills and talents while the whole day. To create more attention for the topic in the public and to start a dialogue between artists and guests.
