In der Albertstadt in Dresdens Norden befand sich eine der größten Garnisonsstädte Deutschlands. Daran erinnert heute das Militärhistorische Museum der Bundeswehr (MHMBW), dem wir am Donnerstag, 10. November, einen Besuch abstatten. Hinter seiner gleichzeitig historischen und modernen Fassade untersucht das Museum in einer zeitgemäßen Ausstellung die Auswirkungen von Krieg und Waffengewalt auf die Gesellschaft. Diese lernen wir bei einer Führung besser verstehen. Einige Gebäude in der Albertstadt werden noch heute militärisch genutzt und die Offizierschule des Heeres öffnet ihre Türen für euch.

The Albertstadt district situated in the north of Dresden used to be amongst the biggest garrison towns in Germany. Today the Bundeswehr Museum of Military History reminds of these times and today combines history and present day – not only in the controversial architecture. On Thursday, November 10th, we will visit the museum with a guided tour and get an insight in the effects of warfare on the civil society. Most of the buildings of the military district are used for administration nowadays, but the Army Officer Training School still is in operating and opens its doors for you.
