Seit drei Jahren veröffentlicht die New Yorker Band nun schon ihre
opulenten, vor Detailverliebtheit strotzenden Alben.
Ihr Sound ist moderner (im Sinne von richtungsweisender)
Emo-Metal – musikalisch inspiriert sind Coheed And Cambria
jedoch von den großen
progressiven Bands der Sechziger und Siebziger Jahre.
Doch zu keiner Sekunde klingt das aufgesetzt oder prätentiös.
Das neue Album “Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV,
Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness”
ist klassischer, konzeptionell aufwendiger, fordernder Progressive-Rock,
zwischen Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin,
Black Sabbath und Iron Maiden.

Ähnlich wie bei Star Wars ist mit den Alben übrigens erst der
zweite, dritte und vierte Teil der zugrundeliegenden Sci-Fi Saga
erschienen, eine im Dunkeln liegende Geschichte
von Coheed und Cambria Killgannon.

"On the heels of a wonderful experience in front of 50,000 fans at last
weekend's Download Festival and "Best Album of the Year" honors at this
week's Metal Hammer Awards,
Coheed and Cambria regret to announce they are
discontinuing their current European tour.

From Claudio: "We apologize to the European fans from deep within our
hearts. We were hit with an illness and some personal matters that we were
unable to get beyond to finish this tour. We had been looking forward to
doing this run for so long and we are very disappointed."
