„The quartet Aerial came out of nowhere, or rather from Sandviken, which is more or less in the middle of nowhere. After a few years of anonymity in their home town they released their debut album earlier this year and on “Black Rain From the Bombing” they live up to the comparisons with bands such as Sonic Youth and Mono. With four songs, together just over 36 minutes, they offer us four somewhat monumental tunes that feels fresh in a genre that more than often becomes stagnant. Because this is post rock (or art rock, or noise rock, or whatever you want to call it). The songs have, despite elements that sound improvised, the focus and depth that is needed to keep up the interest, and what might be the most remarkable feat - they skilfully avoid the pitfall that is called pretentious. After numerous changes in material, instruments, visions and band members, we've finally released our debut album. It has received good reviews and enabled us to do a fair amount of gigs. The Samuel Jackson Five have always been an alternative to the mainstream acts and see no reason to change that now. We let each individual explore and push their own limits, without losing focus on the melody. The outcome is ever changing but often leads to ethereal, experimental, improvised, dynamic music.
