Beschreibung: Ray Daytona and Googoobombos are known in Italy as a real cult band, their sound being a hyper-cybernetic mixture of melodic surf garge tunes played live at an insane speed with punk rock attitude and good technical skill. Since the very beginning they delight their audience with their gigs, melting together high energy and a strong sound impact. The band has played both in Italy and abroad, opening for such bands as Misfits, Sonic Youth, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Radio Birdman, Satanic Surfers, and sharing the stage with Nashville Pussy, Billy Childish and Thee Headcoats, Robert Gordon, Phantom Surfers, Link Protrudi and The Jaymen, Demons, The Squirtgun. They’ve published four albums and a bunch of 7”. Their first full-lenght album, A Wild Shot Of... (1999), is an ideal tribute to the obscure Sixties’ garage, and as the title suggests, to Henry Mancini and Sixties’ soundtracks. Afterwards they meet and become friends with Winston Smith, the american artist, who has worked for magazines like The New Yorker, Playboy, and with bands such as Dead Kennedys, Green Day, No Means No, Ben Harper. He becomes their steady partner, creating the cover for their second a and third album. Space Age Traffic Jam (2001) and Fasten Seat Belt (2004) mark their turn towards a much more tough and personal sound, supported by the musical production of David Lenci, live sound ingeneer for Uzeda, Man or Astroman, Shellac and co-worker with Steve Albini. In september, 2005, some songs of the band appear in the soundtrack of a short film, Full Circle, by Joseph Lefevre, which is presented at the Venice Cinema Festival. The collaboration with the director goes on now, with the band working to write the soundtrack for his new film, Said, which should come out in the spring of 2008. The band is now touring to promote their new mini album, One Eyed Jack (cd/10”), that features ten new original songs.
"THE PINK FLAMINGOS are a new band fresh out of Wild at Heart Studios, featuring Chuck Harvey of Frantic Flinstones, Tex Morton & Lloyd Clark of the Kamikaze Queens and Andy Laaf of Mad Sin. One could say it's a ""who's who"" of the Berlin Psychobilly scene...or the ""best of"" Berlin Psychoteddy's. Chuck never fails at putting on an entertaining show, and he's got one hell of a backing band, so come along and welcome CHUCK & THE PINK FLAMINGOS!!! How it all started, ok first there was a studio album, by CHUCK AND THE CRACK-PIPES, by the name ´ONE LUNG DOWN´ released on the western star label in 2007.Chucks freind and sexual deviant alan wilson was the brain behind the plan.The album sold very well and is still a must for all cowboys. wsrc 018. We then see chuck going to brasil, to find sun, da sea and da cartel.It was here the band formed into CHUCK AND THE BRASIL CRACK-PIPES. they played the famous psycho carnival, and then his boys made up the FRANTIC FLINTSTONES,recording a top selling,kick in the head cd in curitiba-pa brasil,over a period of 5 months, ´PSYCHO SAMBA - MY WAY´ During chucks stay in brasil, his freindship with cox grew and grew, you could find the two of them down town curitiba, in dodgey bars - clubs and pool halls, singing and strumming away. There pay, some drinks, bbq and with luck some reais,the name of these two cowboys KO & KAINE. Well after much song writing and shows, chuck & cox decided to bring in old cowboy and long time freind marky-mark on fiddel, it gave the band a little more edge, the band changed into KO - KAINE & KRACK, this threesome toured the dirty bars n clubs, no god respecting person would go, after a while koti joined the boys on lap steel guitar, and these country boys were rockin, yes yet again a name change.THE DRUG SQUAD, shows and deals were done. Chuck moved back to europe after a 5 week euro tour with the FRANTIC FLINTSTONES, after getting it on and eventually married his now wife,angie.That was kinda the end for the brasil line up for FRANTIC FLINTSTONES, but when chuck goes back to brasil for shows or tours, of course its these samba boys he works with, the euro FRANTIC FLINTSTONES are up and running again.During 2009 the DRUG SQUAD flew in from brasil, for a one and only euro show in austria.Again when chuck is in brasil the boys always try to play a show or two. So with the FRANTIC FLINTSTONES on the road, plenty of shows worldwide, chuck was missing his country music and the band feeling that went with it, thats when old freind tex morton came into the game, after several beers n snazzel,the idea and the band was formed CHUCK & THE PINK FLAMINGOS, lloyd clark and andy laaf were drafted in on bass and drums.Chuck and tex started writing, and the partnership is one made in country hell.Intrest and shows are flying in all the time.of course the boys have to fit this in between there main bands,FRANTIC FLINTSTONES - MAD SIN - KAMIKAZE QUEENS ETC ETC, thats why now and again you will see guest FLAMINGOS on the stage with chuck and tex.Look out for the brand new album ´THE FUNNY SIDE OF SUICIDE´ and catch these boys in a town or land near you.
