Nation’s sound emerges from the electronic backgrounds of dance culture
and creates a new era of Dirty Sound from Chicago and Ann Arbor: Jakbeat.

In detail what defines Jakbeat tracks has a lot to do with the jacking feeling and little to do with labels, aesthetics, or any list of synthesizers.
The Jack sound exists in an endless assortment of music.
For a while it was generally known that you do not need a Roland TB303 to make ‘acid’. But as other fashions took control of our house that fundamental understanding was lost…and the aesthetic took over.
A contrived image was left with the masses.
Jakbeat as it has come to be known is a not just a hash back to a golden age of house, it’s not just a mess of drum beats and synths and it’s not just something that is created at random.

“Jakbeat” is a state of mind and different level of musical consciousness.

Traxx, CEO of Nation, has been coming to Dresden for the last 16 years and each time it's a celebration of family, friends and supporters from back in the day, in between and new friends from today!
Everytime Nation is inviting some of the rawest and freshest talent from the circle of up- and comers, next to the most illuminary producers in the contemporary electronic music scene.
Artists like JTC, Tevo Howard, Mick Wills, Tyler Pope have all graced the decks together with local Nation liaisons in Europe.

The time has come again...

Alienata

2000 ... Then it all started. Since then this martian and honest deejay has been dedicated to learn, analyze, enjoy, and deal in with sound in all of its forms. Deep, dubby, jakbeat, obsessive Chicago, microloops coming from any source (even including fridge's plug), endless Miles Davis songs, funky funk, creamy deep house, or a beautiful aquatic dark electro track.
Hailing from Valencia, she has been showing her exquisite and authentic musical selection through a plenty of clubs around europe. Since 2008, Alienata, after being a longtime contributor, took over the responsibilities for musical direction of Overflow Records, where she's able to expand her good and expert musical taste.

Traxx

Traxx is no fan of labels. That is why he does not define himself as a DJ or a producer. Rather, he could be said to be an artist of sound, a man who blurs the lines between genres and simply lets himself be taken by what a given melody or rhythm suggests to him, taking pages from a number of influences ranging from early disco, experimental dance, industrial electronica, hip... hop or jazz. That is why the sessions by this Chicago genius are as unpredictable as they are pleasantly surprising, including everything from avant-garde and eclectic sounds to unending old school tracks. This is the spirit behind Nation, the platform he created in 2007 to gather creators (JTC, D'Marc Cantu, Saturn V...) who, like him, push the "jakbeat" sound to places where anything is possible.

Not confiding himself to genres, his DJ existence incorporates versatility and intuition. It's all about the music for him, and his eagerness to learn and adapt and shape his musical identity is also the reason for him to become an integral part of Nation as their european liaison.
