Guitar, bass and drums. As basic as the band's equipment may be – their modern and funky sound and the catchy lyrics are anything but basic. Starting off as three teenage fellow students making music, Pool has grown to being an amazingly exciting indie-pop band, which is -with the debut album in the making- definitely just a hint away from making it big.

Pool. This four letter word makes you think about various different things such as swimming, data exchange or even billiard. »It's not anticipating anything« explains singer/ bassist David Stoltzenberg and that's exactly why the name fits the Hamburg native band so perfectly. Pool, that's where analogue meets digital, where the rehearsal room is just as important as the computer and where guitar riffs and synthies join forces – in a very intuitional way.

David met Daniel Husten and Nils Hansen in school and at age 13 they decided to start a band: »It was just a logical thing to do for us« says the trio. Whereas they were influenced by Nirvana or Eminem in their early years as a group and by mainly electronic music in the last couple of years, Pool managed to find a very own sound along the way. Pop, Indie, Disco-Funk. To say it in the words of the band itself: »a robotic style – but played real«. Coming of age made them more tolerant and curious about different types of music. But despite growing up and evolving artistically there's one relict they kept from their teenage days: not worrying too much.

And with their own kind of creative process, driven by intuition rather than ambition, they are damn right: with the release of two attention calling EPs (including remixes by Solomun, Stimming and Aeroplane) on 2DIY4/Diynamic they earned the opportunity to join The 1975 for their whole european tour and shared the stage with Digitalism, Gold Panda and Django Django. They also added some prominent festival experience to the band vita playing South by Southwest, Reeperbahnfestival and Fusion in the last two years. For Berlin Festival their stunning single »Harm« got selected to be the official anthem. At the moment the band is working on the debut album and although a precise release date is not determined one thing is safe to say: In 2015 you can't miss these guys!
