Ashkabad was born in 2010 out of a long friendship between an active beat maker generator of devilish rhythms and a singer whose melodies are wild yet carefully crafted.

The duo from Avignon got together through their common taste for Dub music without frontiers, by drawing additional inspirations from Jamaican roots , French and English Dub, Bass Music and the culture Sound System. With several years of musical experience behind them, and many live concerts across Europe, as well as sharing the stage with the big names of the Dub scene (Dubmatix, Aba Shanti I, ODG, Dub inc., Kanka, Mahom, Brain Damage etc), the duo have made their mark with their unique style.
This is already captured on their three released EPs. Their powerful sound is based on the Electro-Dub but often developed with fascinating experimentation. Their work with Mahom, Odatteee and also iPhase proves their openness to cultural music blending.

However, it is on stage that their music really comes alive with unlimited energy. Ashkabad juggles between deep Dub, hypnotic Stepper and electric Dubstep, always accompanied with massive
bass lines.
