Entdecken Sie mit uns auf diesem besonderen Spaziergang die fotogenen Seiten Dresdens neu! Am Sonntag, 5. Mai 2019, werden wir zunächst eine Einweisung in das fotografische Handwerk bekommen und anschließend das Gelernte bei den schönsten Motiven der Dresdner Innenstadt anwenden. In einem authentischen indischen Restaurant erhalten wir zudem Einblick in die indische Kultur und können uns dort beim Mittagessen Pläne für den nächsten Fotospaziergang schmieden.

WELTREISE IM BOTANISCHEN GARTEN DER TU DRESDEN

Die DresdnerInnen müssen ihre Stadt nicht verlassen, um Natur pur zu erleben. Kommen Sie mit uns am Sonnabend, 4. Mai 2019, in den Botanischen Garten der TU Dresden und lernen bei unserer Weltreise mehr über tropische und subtropische Pflanzen aus Asien, Afrika und Amerika, über Fossilien und die Anpassung von Pflanzen an verschiedene Umweltfaktoren. Im Anschluss essen wir gemeinsam Mittag und erkunden wir bei einer Fahrt mit der von Dresdner Kindern betriebenen Parkeisenbahn den Großen Garten.

AROUND THE WORLD IN THE BOTANICAL GARDEN

You don’t have to leave the city of Dresden to experience pure nature. Just come with us to the Botanical Garden on Saturday, May 4th 2019, and find out more about tropical and subtropical plants from Asia, Africa and America, about fossils and the adaption of plants to their environment. UHRMACHERKUNST IN GLASHÜTTE

Am Sonntag, 28. April 2019, schauen wir uns im Zentrum der deutschen Uhrenindustrie an, wie Uhren früher hergestellt wurden und auch heute noch mit viel Handarbeit entstehen. Nach der Führung im Uhrenmuseum stärken wir uns im Restaurant und erkunden das idyllische sächsische Örtchen bei einem kleinen Stadtrundgang.

BÖHMISCHE SCHWEIZ - WANDERUNG DURCH DAS ELBSTANDSTEINGEBIRGE

Am Sonnabend, 30. Juni 2018, geht es endlich auf eine Wanderung durch den National­park an der deutsch-tsche­chi­schen Grenze. GARTENSTADT HELLERAU - SOZIALE UTOPIE DER MODERNE

Vor 100 Jahren wurden im Zuge der in­dustri­el­len Revo­lu­tion die Städte größer aber dadurch nicht unbe­dingt weni­ger schön! Perfektes Beispiel hierfür ist die Garten­stadt Helle­rau in Dresden, die als Modell für die sozia­le Uto­pie und moder­ne Archi­tek­tur zu Beginn des 20. Jahr­hun­derts gilt. Am Sonn­abend, 9. HELLERAU GARDEN CITY - SOCIAL UTOPIA OF THE MODERN AGE

In the times of Industrial Revolution, cities grew but they did not necessarily become uglier! A perfect example for this is the garden city Hellerau, a district of Dresden. On Saturday, June 9th, you can discover Germany's first garden city with us. SAURIERPARK KLEINWELKA - ZEITREISE INS JURA

Eine Reise in die Ver­gangen­heit unter­neh­men wir mit euch am Sonn­abend, 02. Juni 2018. DINOSAUR PARK KLEINWELKA - TIME TRAVEL TO THE JURASSIC PERIOD

During the Jurassic period, probably most of the 200 giant lizards populating the biggest German dinosaur park were around alive. GESCHICHTEN VON SORBEN UND SACHSEN IM VOLKSKUNSTMUSEUM

In Sachsen gibt es eine Viel­falt von lo­ka­len und regio­na­len Tra­di­tio­nen, Dia­lek­ten und kuli­na­ri­schen Be­son­der­hei­ten. Be­son­ders das Kunst­hand­werk gibt einen Ein­blick in den All­tag der Men­schen, die hier leb­ten und le­ben. Am Sonn­tag, 27. SAXON AND SORBIAN TRADITIONS AT THE MUSEUM OF SAXON FOLK ART

Saxony is a diverse region with many local traditions, languages and of course culinary treats. Handcrafts give a very special insight in the everyday life of local people in the past and present. On Sunday, May 27th, you can get to know a lot of them in just one place, on a guided tour to the museum of Saxon folk art: enchanting carved objects from the Ore Mountains (not only nutcrackers!) and embroidered woven textiles from Lusatia, lavish Sorb costumes and intricate lace from the Vogtland region, painted fur­ni­ture , richly decorated ceramics and an unusually diverse collection of historic toys. After the visit tot he museum we can have a chat around German „Kaffee und Kuchen“ about new and old traditions in our home countries.

Am Sonn­abend, 26. Mai 2018, ent­decken wir mit euch einen Wald ganz nah bei Dres­den, der mit Ber­gen und Bäu­men eine schöne Ab­wechs­lung zur Stadt bie­tet. Zuerst be­sich­ti­gen wir den Forst­bo­a­ni­schen Gar­ten der TU Dres­den, auch be­kannt als Säch­si­sches Landes­ar­bo­re­tum. Die­se Aus­bil­dungs­stät­te für die Stu­die­ren­den der Forst­wis­sen­schaf­ten ist schon über 200 Jahre alt und be­her­bergt viele hei­mi­sche und exo­ti­sche Pflan­zen. Nach einer Stär­kung beim ge­mein­sa­men Mittag­essen er­kun­den wir die viel­fäl­ti­ge und er­hol­sa­me Um­ge­bung bei einer klei­nen Wan­de­rung.

THARANDT - DISCOVERING THE FOREST BOTANICAL GARDEN OF TU DRESDEN​

On Saturday, May 26th, we will take you to the Forest Botanical Garden of TU Dresden, also known as the Saxon State Arboretum, on a guided tour. This place of training and research for the students of forest science of TU Dresden exists for already more than 200 years. It is home of many local and exotic plants, but also many beautiful old trees. We will gather our strength around the lunch table and continue our discovery on a will hike through the diverse and relaxing environment.

Zuerst geht es hoch auf die Wart­burg, wo Mar­tin Luther vor 500 Jahren das Neue Testa­ment ins Deutsche über­setzte, danach fahren wir mit euch in die Tiefe eines Salz­berg­werks. Nicht weit entfernt liegt die Landes­haupt­stadt Erfurt mit dem größten und am besten er­hal­te­nen mittel­alter­lichen Stadt­kern Euro­pas. Diese roman­tische Seite wollen wir bei einem Stadt­rund­gang ken­nen­ler­nen. Aber auch ein Aus­flug nach Wei­mar darf nicht fehlen! Die Stadt Wei­mar ist welt­bekannt für Kultur, Kunst und Musik. Dazu zählt die „Weima­rer Klassik“ geprägt durch die bei­den be­rühm­ten Dich­ter Goethe und Schiller, sowie der Be­ginn des mo­der­nen De­signs durch die Kunst­schule des „Bau­hauses“.

THURINGIA - WEEKEND TRIP INTO GERMAN HISTORY

This summer term our weekend trip from May 10th to 13th* takes you to Thuringia, on the traces of German history. We will get up on the Wartburg where Martin Luther trans­lated the New Testament into Ger­man 500 years ago. Afterwards we go down into the depth of a salt mine not far away from the federal state capital Erfurt. There we will marvel at the greatest and best preserved medieval city centre in Europe during a guided city walk. Once in Thuringia we should not miss out on a trip to Weimar! The city is known world-wide for its culture, arts and music. This includes “Weimar Classicism”, represented by the two famous poets Goethe and Schiller, but also the beginning of modern design by the “Bauhaus” school of arts.

*Thursday, May 10th is Ascension Day, a bank holiday in Germany.

Dezember, verwandelt sich bei der Internationalen Weihnachtsfeier der TU Dresden das Hörsaalzentrum an der Bergstraße 64 dank vieler internationaler Weihnachtswichtel wieder in eine Partymeile vom Foyer bis zum Audimax. Der Abend beginnt mit einem internationalen Weihnachtsmarkt mit exotischen Speisen und Musik. Später erwartet Sie ein buntes Kulturprogramm mit Beiträgen aus aller Welt. Anschließend sorgt der DJ bis spät in die Nacht für anhaltendes Partyfeeling.

Am Sonntag, 3. Dezember, wollen wir uns auf die Spuren des Lebenskünstlers Karl Stülpner begeben. Dazu besuchen wir die Burg Scharfenstein. Mit diesem Ort ist der sogenannte „sächsische Robin Hood“ wohl für immer verbunden. Während der Führung erfahren wir, welch spannende Legenden sich um diese Person ranken. Doch natürlich fahren wir nicht ohne Grund ausgerechnet im Advent in das Weihnachtsland Erzgebirge. Neben der mittelalterlichen Burg werden wir auch den heimelichen Adventsmarkt erleben und in Weihnachtsstimmung kommen. Auf dem Marktplatz erwartet uns ein kulturelles Programm mit Einblicken in erzgebirgische Weihnachtstraditionen. Lasst euch überraschen!

Fortress Scharfenstein - Advent season in the ore mountains

On Sunday, December 3rd, we will experience the life of Karl Stülpner during a guided tour to the fortress Scharfenstein. There are many legends around the so-called „Saxon Robin Hood“, who lived in the 17th century. And of course, there is a reason why we choose the visit of the „Christmas country“ ore mountains in the Advent season: In Scharfenstein you can not only increase your knowledge about the castle, but also get into the right Christmas feeling! On the market square we will come into contact with famous Christmas traditions of the ore mountains. Get surprised!

Yenidze – Stories under the cuppola

Dream with us from 1001 fairy tales in the Yenidze Dresden and join us for a night of advent stories on December 2nd. That night you can listen to funny stories around the time before Christmas, called "Stille Nacht allerseits". You have the opportunity to enter the cupola of the archi-tectural attraction in the style of a mosque. In the former cigarette factory you can find now a fairy tale theater and a restaurant.

Am Sonnabend, 25.11.17, machen wir einen Ausflug durch die Jahrhunderte und besuchen Stolpen. Berühmt ist Stolpen für seine Burg und das tragische Schicksal einer faszinierenden Frau: Anna Constantia von Cosel. 49 Jahre war die berühmteste Mätresse Augusts des Starken auf der Burg Stolpen gefangen. Der Burgbrunnen ist mit seinen 82 Metern der tiefste natursteinbelassene Basaltbrunnen der Erde! Erstmalig wurde der Name „Basalt“ für die schwarz-bläulichen Säulen von Stolpen verwendet. Von hier aus ging der Name um die Welt.

Fortress Stolpen - The prison of Countess Cosel

On Saturday, November 25th, we will travel through the centuries during our visit to Stolpen. The town is famous for its fortress and the tragic fate of a fascinating woman - Anna Constantia von Cosel. For 49 years, the most famous mistress of Augustus the Strong was imprisoned in Stolpen Castle. The castle fountain with its 82 meters is the deepest natural stone basalt fountain on earth! For the first time, the name "basalt" was used for the black-bluish columns of Stolpen. From here the name went around the world.

Unsere zweite Wochenendreise im Wintersemester führt uns vom 18. bis 19. November in die Musikstadt Leipzig. Nach einer Stadtführung mit Geschichte und Geschichten über Bach, Wagner und Gewandhaus könnt ihr Bachs musikalische Welt in der Thomaskirche erklingen hören. Im Zeitgenössischen Forum tauchen wir in die jüngste Geschichte Deutschlands ein. Die friedliche Revolution und der Wiedervereinigung nahmen 1989 in Leipzig ihren Anfang. Ebenso werden wir das berühmte Völkerschlachtdenkmal besteigen und Leipzig von oben bewundern. Die Unterkunft mit Frühstück und Mittagessen sowie Eintrittsgelder sind im Preis inbegriffen.

City of music - Leipzig

Our second weekend trip, on November 18th and 19th, takes us to the musical city of Leipzig. After a guided walking tour that highlights the stories of Bach, Wagner and the famous concert hall the “Gewandhaus”, you can listen to a part of Bach’s musical world in the St. Thomas Church. In the museum “Zeitgenössisches Forum” we will immerse ourselves in Germany’s more recent history – namely, the peaceful re¬volution and reunification which started in Leipzig, in 1989. As well ascent the famous monument Völkerschlachtdenkmal to get a great view from above. Accommodation, breakfast and entrance for all planned activities are included in the fee.

Zwischen Weinbergen und Elbe, direkt vor den Toren Dresdens liegt Radebeul, welches auf einzigartige Weise Wein-, Kultur- und Naturerlebnisse vereint. Wir entdecken den Facettenreichtum dieser vielseitigen Stadt, die als das Herzstück der Sächsischen Weinstraße gilt. Wo einst Karl May seine bekannten Romane schrieb, gehen wir am Sonnabend, 11. Radebeul is located between vineyards and the river Elbe, right before the gates of Dresden. The city uniquely combines wine, culture and nature experiences. We will discover the multifaceted richness of this city, which is considered to be the heart of the Saxon Wine Route. Where Karl May has written his well-known novels, we will go for a walk by the foot-steps of the famous writer on November 11th. Before we get inspired in the theater by the story of the Countess Cosel, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

Unser Ausflug vom 28.-31. Oktober* führt uns nach Berlin, wo ihr die Hauptstadt vom Fluss aus bei einer Schifffahrt kennenlernen könnt. Das deutsche Parlament, den Bundestag, werdet ihr bei einer Führung von innen erleben. Ebenfalls werden wir die Museumsinsel mit ihren antiken Schätzen der historischen Sammlungen entdecken. Our first weekend trip this winter term will take us to Berlin from 28th to 31st of October. You will get to know the capital from the water side on a boat trip on river Spree. As well, you will get the chance to discover the German parliament, the Bundestag, from the inside. On the famous museum island, antique treasures are waiting for you. Afterwards the Panorama Tower in Potsdamer Platz offers a great view over the city center. Learn about the recent German history on a guided walk around the once divided city - capital of the reunited German Federal Republic since 1990. In addition to the Assisi Panometer, you will also get to know the Berlin Cathedral. Accommodation, breakfast and lunch or dinner and entrance for all planned activities are included in your participation fee.
