Song
Titel: The final straw Album: Around The Sun Interpret: R.E.M.
As I raise my head to broadcast my objection As your latest triumph draws the final straw Who died and lifted you up to perfection? And what silenced me is written into law.
I can't believe where circumstance has thrown me And I turn my head away If I look I'm not sure that I could face you. Not again. Not today. Not today.
If hatred makes a play on me tomorrow And forgiveness takes a back seat to revenge There's a hurt down deep that has not been corrected There's a voice in me that says you will not win.
And if I ignore the voice inside, Raise a half glass to my home. But it's there that I am most afraid, And forgetting doesn't hold.
It doesn't hold. Now I don't believe and I never did That two wrongs make a right. If the world were filled with the likes of you Then I'm putting up a fight. Putting up a fight. Putting up a fight. Make it right. Make it right.
Now love cannot be called into question. Forgiveness is the only hope I hold. And love-- love will be my strongest weapon. I do believe that I am not alone.
For this fear will not destroy me. And the tears that have been shed It's knowing now where I am weakest And the voice in my head. In my head.
Then I raise my voice up higher And I look you in the eye And I offer love with one condition. With conviction, tell me why. Tell me why. Tell me why. Look me in the eye. Tell me why.
Kommentar:
"I do believe that I am not alone."

I got you stuck off the realness, we be the infamous you heard of us official Queensbridge murderers the Mobb comes equipped with warfare, beware of my crime family who got nuff shots to share for all of those who wanna profile and pose rock you in your face, stab your brain wit' your nosebone you all alone in these streets, cousin every man for theirself in this land we be gunnin' and keep them shook crews runnin' like they supposed to they come around but they never come close to I can see it inside your face you're in the wrong place cowards like you just get they're whole body laced up with bullet holes and such speak the wrong words man and you will get touched you can put your whole army against my team and I guarantee you it'll be your very last time breathin' your simple words just don't move me you're minor, we're major you all up in the game and don't deserve to be a player don't make me have to call your name out your crew is featherweight my gunshots'll make you levitate I'm only nineteen but my mind is old and when the things get for real my warm heart turns cold another nigga deceased, another story gets told it ain't nothin' really hey, yo dun spark the Phillie so I can get my mind off these yellowbacked niggas why they still alive I don't know, go figure meanwhile back in Queens the realness is foundation if I die I couldn't choose a better location when the slugs penetrate you feel a burning sensation getting closer to God in a tight situation now, take these words home and think it through or the next rhyme I write might be about you
Mobb Deep - Shook ones PtII

I lit a thin green candle to make you jealous of me But the room just filled up with mosquitos, they heard that my body was free Then I took the dust of a long sleepless night and I put it in your little shoe And then I confess that I tortured the dress that you wore for the world to look through
I showed my heart to the doctor, he said I just have to quit Then he wrote himself a prescription and your name was mentioned in it Then he locked himself in a library shelf with the details of our honeymoon And I hear from the nurse that he's gotten much worse and his practice is all in a ruin
I heard of a saint who had loved you, so I studied all night in his school He taught that the duty of lovers is to tarnish the golden rule And just when I was sure that his teachings were pure he drowned himself in the pool His body is gone but back here on the lawn his spirit continues to drool
An Eskimo showed me a movie he'd recently taken of you The poor man could hardly stop shivering, his lips and his fingers were blue I suppose that he froze when the wind took your clothes and I guess he just never got warm But you stand there so nice, in your blizzard of ice, oh please let me come into the storm

Ah but don't go home with your hard-on It will only drive you insane You can't shake it (or break it) with your Motown You can't melt it down in the rain Leonard Cohen
I’m a slave for you. I cannot hold it; I cannot control it.<br />I’m a slave for you. I won’t deny it; I’m not trying to hide it.

Faithless - Mass Destruction My dad came into my room holding his hat I knew he was leaving, he sat on my bed told me some facts, son. I have a duty, calling on me You and your sister be brave my little soldier And don't forget all I told ya Your the mister of the house now remember this And when you wake up in the morning give ya momma a kiss Then I had to say goodbye
In the morning woke momma with a kiss on each eyelid, Even though I'm only a kid Certain things can't be hid Momma grabbed me Held me like I was made of gold But left her inner stories untold I said, momma it will be alright When daddy comes home, tonight
Whether long range weapon or suicide bomb Wicked mind is a weapon of mass destruction Whether you're soar away sun or BBC 1 Misinformation is a weapon of mass destruction If your'e a Caucasian or a poor Asian Racism is a weapon of mass destruction Whether inflation or globalization Fear is a weapon of mass destruction
Whether Halliburton or Enron or anyone Greed is a weapon of mass destruction We need to find courage, overcome Inaction is a weapon of mass destruction The skin under my chin is exploding again I'm getting stress from some other children I'm holding it in. We taking sides like a politician And if I get friction, we get to fighting I defend my dad, he's the best of all men And whatever he's doing, he's doing the right thing It's frightening, but it makes me mad Why do all these people seem to hate my dad And if that aint enough now I got these spots I go to sleep every night with my stomach in knots And what's more, I can hear momma next door Explore the radio for reports of war And all we ever seem to do Is hide the tears Seem like daddy been gone for years But he was right Now I'm geared up for the fight And he would be proud of me If my daddy come home tonight Listen me calmly
Whether long range weapon or suicide bomb Wicked mind is a weapon of mass destruction Whether you're soar away sun or BBC 1 Misinformation is a weapon of mass destruction If you're a Caucasian or a poor Asian Racism is a weapon of mass destruction Whether inflation or globalization Fear is a weapon of mass destruction
Whether Halliburton or Enron or anyone Greed is a weapon of mass destruction We need to find courage, overcome Inaction is a weapon of mass destruction
My story stops here, lets be clear This scenario is happening everywhere And you ain't going to nirvana or farvana You're coming right back here to live out your karma With even more drama than previously, seriously Just how many centuries have we been waiting for someone else to make us free And we refuse to see That people overseas suffer just like we Bad leadership and ego's unfettered and free Who feed one the people they're supposed to lead I don't need good people to pray and wait For the lord to make it all straight There's only now, do it right. Cos I don't want your daddy, leaving home tonight

Danke.
Meiner Meinung nach auch dieser Herr:
As I sat sadly by her side At the window, through the glass She stroked a kitten in her lap And we watched the world as it fell past Softly she spoke these words to me And with brand new eyes, open wide We pressed our faces to the glass As I sat sadly by her side
She said, "Father, mother, sister, brother, Uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, Soldier, sailor, physician, labourer, Actor, scientist, mechanic, priest Earth and moon and sun and stars Planets and comets with tails blazing All are there forever falling Falling lovely and amazing"
Then she smiled and turned to me And waited for me to reply Her hair was falling down her shoulders As I sat sadly by her side
As I sat sadly by her side The kitten she did gently pass Over to me and again we pressed Our different faces to the glass "That may be very well", I said "But watch the one falling in the street See him gesture to his neighbours See him trampled beneath their feet All outward motion connects to nothing For each is concerned with their immediate need Witness the man reaching up from the gutter See the other one stumbling on who can not see"
With trembling hand I turned toward her And pushed the hair out of her eyes The kitten jumped back to her lap As I sat sadly by her side
Then she drew the curtains down And said, "When will you ever learn That what happens there beyond the glass Is simply none of your concern? God has given you but one heart You are not a home for the hearts of your brothers
And God does not care for your benevolence Anymore than he cares for the lack of it in others Nor does he care for you to sit At windows in judgement of the world He created While sorrows pile up around you Ugly, useless and over-inflated"
At which she turned her head away Great tears leaping from her eyes I could not wipe the smile from my face As I sat sadly by her side
